Clinical case to replace an old composite restoration of a fractured anterior tooth placed 5 years ago due to a vehicular accident. Upon consultation, tooth 21 was indicated for root canal treatment followed by direct composite restoration using the MiCD restorative protocol.
Bioactive composite resin restoration was placed with Beautifil II deep dentin shade and body shade for dentin layers. Beautifil Injectable XSL #INC and Beautifil Opaquer #LO was used to mimic the optical characteristics of natural teeth then Beautifil II Enamel #HVT for the outer enamel layer to achieve the natural translucency. Finishing and polishing protocol included the OneGloss smart polishers and Super-Snap Xtreme disk system with the Super-Snap buff disk for the final enamel lustre
